The New York State Dental Association (NYSDA) has been the voice for the dental profession in New York State since its founding in 1868. With 14,000 members (76 percent of practicing dentists in the state), NYSDA is one of the largest state constituents of the American Dental Association.

NYSDA provides its members with a powerful presence in the Legislature, business development programs, peer review, a clinical journal and educational and scientific programs that promote the art and science of dentistry.

Members of organized dentistry in New York State belong to a tripartite association that includes NYSDA, a local component society and the American Dental Association.

NYSDA is headquartered in a modern office building on the sixth floor of 20 Corporate Woods Boulevard. The association is conveniently located within a five minute drive of the New York State Capitol, the State Legislative Office Building, City Hall and the State Court of Appeals. Its staff of 22 develops and carries outprograms for the profession and the public and responds to member inquiries.

NYSDA strives to improve the climate for practicing dentistry in New York State through representation on state legislative issues.

Legislation is written and introduced by NYSDA to protect the interests of the profession and the dental health of the public before all branches of state government.

Membership-
Dentists licensed to practice in New York State, graduate students, residents and dental students are invited to become members of the New York State Dental Association. The tripartite membership structure includes membership in the American Dental Association, NYSDA and a local dental society, powerful resources that enable members to enhance their clinical dental skills and protect career investments. NYSDA Periodicals-
The New York State Dental Journal is the official publication of NYSDA. It is peer reviewed and devoted to publishing significant and original scientific articles, news of the Association and events of interest to the dental community. The Journal is published in Jan., March, April, June/July, Aug./Sept., and November. During the months of Feb., May, October and December, the new and improved NYSDA News is published in place of the Journal. The NYSDA News focuses on news from the New York State Dental Association and about NYSDA members, to keep our readers informed about what is happening outside of their offices. (Learn more)
