Job Description
Collections Representative position that will be responsible for researching account information and heavy collections on past due accounts in dental financing industry.
Primary duties include but are not limited to:
- Daily collection activity of accounts.
- Document daily collection activity.
- Daily skip tracing on accounts while utilizing all resources available in an effort to locate consumers and negotiate payment arrangements.
- Negotiate payment terms and methods. The negotiation process often requires reviewing the account information in database, and/or asking probing questions of the consumer in order to better understand potential objections to payment.
- Overcome objections and suggest alternative money sources for debt payment.
- Utilize payment resources (credit cards, checks, etc.) and secure this information so that services can be processed.
Experience:
- Ideally the successful candidate will have a minimum of two to three years prior collections experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Detail oriented
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Persistent, tactful with excellent communication skills (verbal & written). Ability to communicate with proper grammar and diction usage that is easily understood by the customer and proper telephone etiquette is required
- Demonstrate sound judgment and problem solving abilities
- Assertive, pleasant collection and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and decipher credit reports
- Experience in skip tracing is required as you will be required to utilize various techniques to locate customers.
- Experience utilizing search engines such as Accurint, Insight, Merlin, etc.
- Ability to maintain control of phone calls
- Utilize FDCPA knowledge in the collection process
- Proficient with MS Excel and Word
