Job Description
Experienced Dental Assistant needed for family owned Dental practice in Mechanicsville, MD.
$12-16/hr
Enjoy a 35-40 hour work week!
This practice has been in business for almost 30 years and is well known over the Southern Maryland area. They work hard provide their patients with the highest dental care possible.
The Dental Assistant will have the opportunity to work alongside the Dentists in working with patients to provide dental care with the most recent dental technology.
Responsibilities:
Assist the dentist in the clinical treatment of patients Keep treatment rooms clean and stocked at all times Review patient charts daily Sterilize instruments Mix required cleaning solutions
Patient Management:
Escort patients to treatment rooms and prepare them for treatment Ensure patients are comfortable during treatment Hand dental instruments to dentist accurately and in a timely manner; Be familiar with what the Dentist needs to perform different tasks Prepare necessary treatment materials Expose radiographs and determine if a pretreatment photograph is recommended Take accurate notes on provided treatment Check medical history for any significant problems Enter and compare treatment in computer to treatment plan in chart
Laboratory Duties:
Lab Deliveries checked daily Pour and trim models Mail and pick up cases Check lab cases for accuracy and store in appropriate bins Fabricate mouth Guards, bleaching trays, and custom trays Maintain cleanliness and asepsis in laboratory area
Hygiene:
Assist hygienist with various duties as required Perform other duties that may be assigned
Job Requirements
Education/ Experience:
Knowledge of dental instruments and procedures X-ray certification strongly preferred
