The Dental Hygenist provides for the gingival and oral health of the patient by removing plaque and calcareous deposits from teeth, and performing necessary dental x-rays. They assist the Pediatric Dentist and Orthodontist in his/her duties as needed, maintains relationship and communicates with the patient and family to identify needs for service, follow-ups and referrals. They maintain the hygiene instruments to keep them in good working condition. They also assist in maintenance of dental equipment, dental instruments, operatories, x-ray processor, sterilization equipment/procedures, lab and dark room.
MIMIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited Dental Hygienist program and have a Certification by the Georgia Board of Dentistry as a Dental Hygienist
- Familiarity with standard pediatric dental and orthodontic procedures and techniques is required, pediatric experience preferred
