Model Technician Job - Salt Lake City, UT - Arrowhead Dental Laboratory
Entry Level - $10/hour or DOE
*Working ability to read handwritten English (for reading doctor prescriptions).
*By hand, mix specified amounts of various types of plaster with water to form compounds used for model preparation.
*Pour wet plaster mixture into preformed dental impressions.
* Grind, Drill and pin working models using appropriate tools and equipment.
* Pour and drill model base.
* Cut out dies.
* Set models into occlusion (using a bite index when available).
* Choose correct articulators and attach to models.
* Apply various chemicals to models for fabriation purposes (super glue, accelerator, separator, debubblizer).
* High school education or equivlaent G.E.D.
* Excellent eye-hand coordination.
* Excellent manual dexterity with aboth hands.
* Able to grasp and hold objects ranging in size from a small pin to a standard-sized softball.
* Able to more hands, fingers, and wrists in free repetitive motion required to mix materials and accomplish other assigned job duties.
* Able to distinguish color.
* Able to work with plaster, water, glue, and other model-makeing materials without allergic or other adverse physical reaction.
* Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
* Able to cooperate and communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
* Must be able to lift and carry 20 lbs.
* Must be able to work overtime as requested.
