Due to recent growth - we have an exciting opportunity for a Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our Dental Care team. This position is based in our state of the art dental office locations.
The Ortho Dental Assistant prepares patients for examination and ensures our patients are prepared, relaxed and are as comfortable as possible. Working chair-side under the supervision of the dentist, the ortho dental assistant performs a variety of tasks; selecting and handing instruments to the dentist during dental procedures and practices of standardized procedures, techniques and methods used in dental assistance. Our Ortho Dental Assistants also may remove sutures, apply topical anesthetics to gums or place rubber dams on the teeth to isolate them for individual treatment. The dental assistant must have excellent patient communication skills and be able to instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care.
General Requirements:
* 1-2 yrs Ortho Dental Assisting experience
* Excellent communication skills and a professional chair side manner
* Excellent customer service skills and ability to multi-task and manage priorities is a must
* Managed care experience a plus
* Bi-lingual Eng/Spanish a plus
